Terms
of reference :
- To assess
current status of Health Education and EC activities for health
promotion, disease prevention, prevention of environmental deterioration
and effective utilization of available health care facilities
and health and family welfare programmes with focus on sustainability,
overlapping and duplication of efforts.
- To identify
problems and suggest mid-course corrections for on-going programmes
and suggestions for dovetailing of health education in various
disease control programmes.
- To suggest
major objectives, thrust areas, strategies & initiatives proposed
for health education/IEC during the 10lh Plan including
preparation of adequate health education material.
- To assess
methods of optimally utilization of available infrastructure for
health education, restructuring and redeployment if any required
during the 10' Plan and suggest mechanism for involving civil
society and methods for reaching the unreached.
- To recommend
innovative ideas of considering health education from the perspective
of education and development research studies required during
the 10th Plan to evolve more effective/economical methods
of achieving/improving inter-sectoral coordination and community
participation, convergence and integration of IEC programmes in
related sectors and methods to reach the unreached.
- To suggest
monitoring and evaluation mechanism for assessing the relative
merits of various strategies.
The
Chairman may form sub-groups and co-opt official or non-official
members as needed.
The
TA/DA of non-official members of the Committee will be paid as admissible
under Govt. rules by the Department of Health, Ministry of Health
& Family Welfare. The TA/DA of the official members would be
paid by the respective Govt. Departments/Institutions to which they
belong.
The Working
Group may submit its report by 31st March, 2001.
